Queen’s University Radiology (Kingston, Ontario, Canada ) and University of Nairobi (UON) Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiation Medicine (DIRM) will collaboratively participate in advancing radiology education in Kenya. UoN is currently under-resourced in numbers of teaching faculty and infrastructure. Our residency program started in 1977 and has presently a faculty of eight radiologists and 1 medical physicist. The current number of radiology residents is 58 making it challenging to effectively train and mentor trainees.
Given our limited residency training capacity, Queen’s U Radiology has entered into a partnership with UoN to create a Global Health Program through the establishment of a permanent international linkage with two main focuses: Education and Mentorship.
